What ages do you accept?

We welcome children from 6 weeks through 5 years across four age-based classrooms: Infants, Toddlers, Preschool and Pre-K.

Are you licensed?

Yes. MFDA is fully licensed by the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood. Our license and most recent inspection are available on request.

What are your hours?

We're open Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, year-round (with a few holiday closures published each January).

How does the bilingual program work?

Each classroom has bilingual teachers who weave English and Spanish into songs, stories and conversation throughout the day — no flashcards required.

What does tuition include?

All meals and snacks, diapers and wipes, classroom supplies, curriculum, and daily photo updates through our parent app.

Do you offer part-time schedules?

Yes. We offer 3-day part-time schedules subject to availability. Full-time spots fill quickly, so we recommend touring early.

We follow CT Department of Health guidelines and screen children at drop-off. Families receive a clear illness policy at enrollment.

May I tour with my child?

Absolutely — many families do. Tours are private, about 30 minutes, and scheduled outside of nap time so classrooms are active.

Do you offer transportation?

Yes. We provide safe, licensed transportation to and from select Shelton-area elementary schools and afterschool programs. Routes vary by season — we'll confirm whether your address is covered during your tour.

Do you support neurodivergent children?

Absolutely. We welcome children of all neurotypes — including those with autism, ADHD, sensory differences, and speech or developmental delays. Our teachers collaborate with your family, pediatrician, and any outside therapists or IEP/IFSP teams to tailor routines, communication tools, and sensory supports.

What do meals and snacks look like?

Two balanced meals and two snacks are served daily — fresh fruit and vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, and dairy. Menus are peanut-aware, shared with families each week, and adjusted for documented allergies or dietary needs.
